Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore-based music producer/DJ. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, and Nathan Flake. Weird Sounding Dude’s trademark chuggy grooves, squelchy rhythms, and winding melodies are sure to satisfy his listeners but there are always a few surprises along the way.

Life is about evolving and as it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for Weird Sounding Dude’s musical odyssey, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught music producer. In a very short span of time, Weird Sounding Dude became a regular on the charts of Beatport, and his music went onto gain continuous support from some of the top renowned artists such as Tony Mcguinness (from Above & Beyond), Above & Beyond, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, Marsh, Armen Miran, Lost Desert, Cid Inc., Roy Rosenfeld, Khen and many more.

Weird Sounding Dude continues to make a mark in the underground circuit by having releases on some of the most prestigious record labels in the dance music industry such as Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Hoomidaas, Souksonic, Kindisch, Everything Will be Okay, Plattenbank, meanwhile, Perspectives Digital, Laika Sounds, Mango Alley, onedotsixtwo, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Well-known music blogs such as Progressive Astronaut, Change Underground, Release Promo, Underground Tel-Aviv, When We Dip, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Melodic Deep, Bespoke Music, Husa Sounds have shown regular interest in his tracks. Weird Sounding Dude was also nominated for the MyFav Awards for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16. Weird Sounding Dude’s ‘Hyper Dream’ track was picked as track of the year by Above & Beyond’s Tony Mcguinness during his interview with Sky News for the year 2021.

Weird Sounding Dude has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture with performances at music festivals such as Vh1 Supersonic, Sunburn, Satellite Beachside, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Voodoos Fest (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District, Lost & Found Showcase (Goa, India) and played at some of the most celebrated venues across India. Weird Sounding Dude has had the privilege to share the decks with Jody Wisternoff, Guy J, Yotto, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Cubicolor, Nils Hoffmann, Nox Vahn, Mind Against, Braxton, Khen, Enamour, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, to name a few. 2023, is off to a great start for Weird Sounding Dude as he is all set for his first tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Weird Sounding Dude also hosts two radio shows. The first show is called ‘sinetone’ a monthly curated podcast that airs exclusively on Proton Radio every second Monday of the month. The second show is a very special bi-monthly curated podcast exclusive for Spotify and Apple Music called “Orbis”. Weird Sounding Dude’s guest-mixes have been featured on Deeper Sounds (Emirates In-Flight Entertainment), Melodic Deep (NL), Wildwood Podcast (Aus), Indivibe (Ind), The Park Hotels (Ind), Juicebox Radio (Ind), Distant Grooves – CME (Ind), So It Goes (USA), Bloop London Radio (UK), InstitutionYWG (Can), among many others.

It’s safe to say that, Weird Sounding Dude’s musical expedition has slowly started to take shape with no intention of slowing down.
