The Next Gen DJ Contest with UMM

Italian fashion brand UMM (Underground Music Movement) has recently announced a first of it’s kind DJ competition, UMM Circuit in India powered by Pioneer; a DJ contest for skillful and passionate music talent in India. The contest will be held in 5 cities namely Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

What highlights the event?

• A panel of established artists; DJ Clement, Nawed Khan, DJ Mash, DJ Skip, Julia Bliss, Tuhin Mehta and DJ Ivan will act as mentors and help select the finalists and winner.
• The 5 DJ’s selected for the finale in Bangalore will open for headlining act Sick Individuals.
• The finale winner gets:
  • Professional DJ gear.
  • One year “Artist Management contract” with Submerge.
  • Professional DJ/Producer course in your city.

Here are the guidelines to enter the #UMMCircuit competition:

1. Log in here: http://bit.ly/ummindia
2. Sign in and upload your MIX from SoundCloud.
3. Set time frame: 35 minutes (minimum) to 45 minutes (maximum).
4. Genre: any genre of electronic music or mix of genres with electronic music.
5. Get as many votes by means of likes on the contest website.

Entries will be shortlisted by means of:

• Votes from followers
• Top picks from mentors

Four DJ’s from each city below will be selected to advance in the regional rounds held at Central Mall on:

• 30th September in Mumbai
• 1st October in Ahmedabad
• 8th October in Delhi
• 9th October in Pune
• 14th October in Bangalore

This could be the big break for the next inspiring DJ in this country. The big finale will take place in Bangalore on 16th October.
